The snake and the saw blade

November 19, 20251 min read

There was once a snake that was slithering around an abandoned work area. Littered on the ground there were many discarded tools and debris. The snake eventually passed by a saw blade that was there doing nothing. As the snake made it's way past the blade, one of the sharp teeth cut into the snake. The snake was furious. It first hissed and then stuck out it fang lunging at the blade. Still furious, the snake coiled itself around the blade in order to suffocate it. The blade did not react. It had no idea it was being attacked. After all it was only a blade. A snake was later found dead. It was severely cut and died from its wounds.

Anxiety is very much like the story of the snake. As something happens, the people and things often go away and yet how often do clients tell me that they are still angry. At what? Something that hurt you many years back? Letting go is not easy but holding on can be deadly.
